Training & Standard Procedures

Procedure Library

  1. Disarm security system (Code: ****).
  2. Perform perimeter check for overnight incidents.
  3. Turn on Lobby and Rink lights (Zone 1 & 2).
  4. Check Plant status: Oil temp > 100°F, Discharge pressure < 180psi.
  5. Start Dehumidifiers manually if humidity > 50%.
  6. Perform "Dry Cut" on Rink 1 before first skate.

Pre-Flood:
  • Check battery/fuel level.
  • Fill wash water (Cold) and ice making water (140°F Hot).
  • Check blade for sharpness/nicks.
The Cut:
  • Overlap lanes by 6 inches.
  • Maintain speed of 5-7 mph (walking pace).
  • Wash water ON for straights, OFF for turns.
  • Create snow ridge at gate dumping area.

In the event of a serious on-ice injury:

  1. DO NOT MOVE the injured person unless in immediate danger.
  2. Signal for "All Skaters Off Ice" immediately.
  3. Call 911 if consciousness is lost or severe bleeding occurs.
  4. Retrieve AED from Lobby (Red Cabinet) if cardiac event suspected.
  5. Complete Incident Report Form within 1 hour.

  1. Lock-out/Tag-out the compressor unit.
  2. Close suction and discharge valves.
  3. Drain oil pot into approved waste container.
  4. Replace oil filters (Pre-lube gaskets).
  5. Pump new oil to sight-glass level.
  6. Evacuate air from crankcase before opening valves.
